Result customer satisfaction survey
In the framework of our quality system we undertake a survey with our customers. This year the
chosen topic was the manner in which we offer and present our quotation.
We sent 47 (potential) customers our digital questionnaire, 34% of the addressees have responded.
Nearly all respondents are satisfied with the time between the request for the quotation and the
offering of the quotation, the contents and the pricing. A small percentage of the respondents are not
familiar with our terms of delivery (DNR 2005). In future we will put more emphasis on this subject.
The results gave no reason for us to change our system of quotations content wise, but, in accordance
with the DNR-system, we will adapt the phasing.

De Fjord nominated for the NVTG Construction Award 2010
In 2010 the NVTG Construction Award will be given for the fifth time. The theme for this edition is:
“Building with care for human measures”. Keywords for this theme are small scale and integration
in neighborhoods. Not just care, but also cure. Care with human measures is dignified care where
patients are taken seriously under all circumstances. It’s care that does not institutionalize people.
A positive reaction of such care is that patients and inhabitants are happier. When people live in a
small-scale housing form it has a positive result because they feel saver, it is more pleasant to live
there.
4O Projects have registered for the award and eight projects have been nominated. With great pride
we can tell that the project De Fjord has been nominated as well. Oostelbos Van den Berg has been
involved from the early start with the development and realization of the Fjord. We congratulate
Lucertis with this nomination. The winner was announced on Thursday 15 April 2010. The Vlietland
Hospital in Schiedam has won the award. For more information click here for attached folder.

Start of building temporary housing in Oud-Beijerland
It could have been an April fool’s day joke! After searching
for more than a year, discussions, head lines in papers,
searching again, discussing again, Mr. Klaas Tigelaar, mayor
of Oud-Beijerland, was finally able to put the first unit for
the temporary housing in the right place. He worked from
a mobile crane on the building site on the Zoomhoek. In
September 2010 the building of the Meeuw Building Systems
will be inhabited by the elderly from the current house of
Sabina and nursing home The Egmontshof. Both buildings
will be replaced in the course of the coming years. Oostelbos
Van den Berg is responsible for the construction management

Biodiversity
The VN has designated 2010 to the International Year of Biodiversity (www.jaarvandebiodiversiteit.nl)
Oostelbos Van den Berg is taking part in the ‘expert team biodiversity’. With representatives from
the local authorities, province, government, an architect and a housing corporation, Hoekschewaards
Landschap and the Water Regulatory Authority, we are working on a manual for biodiversity.
Biodiversity is the total variation of life on earth. It is about plants, animals and micro-organisms.
We can function thanks to biodiversity, which has to be maintained. With the building of new houses
it is important that all designing parties take into their planning the maintaining or improving of
biodiversity. Within Oostelbos Van den Berg expertise is now being gathered in order to advise clients
and designing parties. For information you can contact Paul Oostelbos.

with the Hoekschewaards Landschap the designing and executing

Berg was responsible for the construction management from the
start commissioned by Housing Corporation De Maashoek
(currently HW Wonen) en foundation Sabina van Egmont.

Festive first pile for School Tafelbergweg
On Thursday 12 March 2010 the first pile for the new-to-be-built
school Tafelbergweg has been struck in the presence of the
management of Altra. Prior to this celebratory moment school
children painted two foundation piles, after which they were
allowed to strike the poles themselves (with the help of a pile
driving frame). Afterwards there was coffee and cake in the
temporary building of the school. After a long time of preparation
a start has finally been made with the construction of the school.
Delivery of the building is planned for July 2011.

Failure not an option!
Alpe d’Huzes is the cycling event where the participants can climb the Alpe
d’Huzes six times individually or as a team. This will happen on June 3rd
2010. Not just because it is fun, but to raise money for the Alpe d’Huez
research fund of KWF Anti-Cancer Campaign. The first run of this action in
2006 delivered a result of over € 370,000. In 2010 they strive to get over
€ 10 million! In total around 2000 cyclists will endure this ordeal, amongst
whom is Jan van der Elst of Oostelbos Van den Berg. Jan has started his
vigorous training to perform the more than six times 13 km on and off climb
with slope gradients of more than 13%. That is very necessary, because he
will burn 9000 calories (11,5 kg of bananas or five whole loaves of bread)
during this performance and will leave behind over 12 liters of sweat on the
local roads. Oostelbos Van den Berg and all of his colleagues are sponsoring
Jan of course. Look at http://deelnemers.alpe-huez.nl/acties/elst55/team/
and contribute to the good cause. It will support Jan because it is a fact he
will have a tough time! And failure is not an option!

De Meeuw starts building temporary residential care facility Sabina van Egmont
On the 9th February 2010, residential care organization
Sabina van Egmont and De Meeuw Building Systems have
given the official go-ahead, for building the temporary
housing in Oud-Beijerland. The temporary facility in the
area of Zoomhoek is 6,000 m and will be the home for
102 residents. The building consists of one and two person
rooms with private bathroom and kitchen unit, a restaurant,
a hairdresser, a shop, a psycho geriatric unit with its own
living room and a separate activity centre where church
services can be held. In order to receive visitors in a save
manner Sabina van Egmont will provide various facilities at
the intersection at the Randweg. A pedestrian refuge will be constructed, a pedestrian crossing
will be made and there will be a cycle path. Also extra facilities will be developed for the fire
brigade, so that they have easy access to the building in case of emergency. During the project
design stage there has been good consultation with the residents’ committee, after which the
project was presented to the future residents and their family members by Oostelbos Van den
Berg and De Meeuw. The plan was received very positively by all the persons present. Many of
the future residents cannot wait to occupy the new building. The new building will be finished and
delivered by De Meeuw halfway through July and will be used for at least three years with an
extension to five years. In the meantime a permanent building will be realized. The new
inhabitants can probably already take residence in the temporary accommodation after the
holiday period.

Another assignment from Altra
On Tuesday 12th January 2010 manager Marco de Bruin from Altra has signed the contract with
Oostelbos Van den Berg for the new to be built Bets Frijling school on the Sportlaan in Purmerend.
This school offers education and care to children from 4 to 12 years old, with serious behavioral
problems, psychiatric disorders and / or learning difficulties. The school creates a climate in which
the children can develop their personality and can grow to maximum independence, in the
meantime taking the individuality of the child into account. One of the first tasks of the school is
to let the children have positive experiences at school, so going to school will be fun again.
When a child feels more at ease and safe at school, they can learn better which creates more
space for their development. The Bets Frijling school works with small groups (max. 12 children)
in order to give the children more attention and to create space for each individual case. The
start op the preparations is launched by the signing of the contract, so the school can be
delivered in 2011.
